Half Canadian, half Swedish but entirely brilliant! Sarah was an immediate hit when she toured the UK in May this year and judging by the reaction from promoters and critics this is a woman with a fantastic future. She has an astonishing voice and writes extraordinary songs that will have your emotions on tenterhooks. A unique talent.

“No matter how many superlatives you used to describe Sarah MacDougall it wasn't enough, absolutely stunning!” –Hedley Jones, Wombwell Madfest, Yorkshire

“It must be unusual to witness a concert where every song captivated the entire audience. It was a pleasure to hear original songs of such outstanding quality”- John Roffey, Maverick Magazine 2009

“As an artist she is creative and innovative and as a musician she is talented but as a singer she is stunning. She has a voice that soars from the warm depths to the crystal heights in the wink of an eye.” –Flicky Harrison, The Swindon Advertiser

“Sarah was sensational, probably the best session I’ve ever done.”- Paul Sunny, Glasgow Radio

“Just wanted to say again what a great record she has! It has easily been my most played CD this year so far." James of Cosmic American/The Maze Nottingham

“I'm not alone in considering one of the highlights of the festival to be the wonderful Sarah MacDougall - an amazing Swedish/Canadian songwriter”- South Yorkshire Times

“She sings ‘I don’t want to be alone anymore’ and I’m checking flight times to British Columbia whilst making favourable comparisons to Neko Case.” David Cowling – Americana UK

Swedish-born songwriter, Sarah MacDougall is a storyteller, entertainer and pop-troubadour with a haunting voice and songs to match. She delivers each song with passion and depth: her music rips your heart out, twists it around and then, gently coaxes it back home. Combining the raw, rustic quality of lonesome country tales with warm folk melodies, Sarah writes about love, heartbreak, crows and living (and leaving) in the city. Now living in Vancouver, BC, Sarah captures her audience with her spontaneous stage presence and a Scandinavian-Folk Americana style that has earned her the reputation as one of the most interesting emerging singer/songwriters of the Canadian West.

Over the last year, Sarah has toured successfully in Canada, USA, UK, Sweden, Denmark and Poland, both solo and as part of two separate songwriter’s collectives: Women in the Round (with Kate Reid and Joanna Chapman-Smith) and Atlantic Crossing (with Corbin Murdoch and Melisa Devost). She will continue to tour in 2009 both solo and with her band, to support her new album, ‘Across the Atlantic’, which was released early in 2009 on Vancouver roots-rock indie label Copperspine Records in November.

In 2010 Sarah will be touring once again with the outstanding steel guitarist Tim Tweedale from the top Canadian band Headwater.
